With the new year around the corner, every one is currently deciding which planner (planners) they will be purchasing for the new year. I wanted to show you my editorial planner for next year. This is the Sugar Paper for Target 2016 edition. Take a look.

Don't forget to subscribe to my channel! I know it is small and just starting out, but I will be doing a giveway every 100 subs until I get to 1000 subs just to kick things off.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday Wishlist

Whose ready for some shopping? More like self shopping? While this is normally the time that we start buying gifts for others, it is normally the time that I buy gifts for myself. I like to wait for Black Friday and Cyber Monday to take a look at things that I have been wanting to see if by any chance they are on sale and then I go for it!

I should preface this post by stating that I do not know if ANY of these items will be part of the holiday sales, but they are the items that I will be looking for. Having worked retail for many years, I do know that retailers tend to do a generous discount on a lot of tech gear so this year I will be focusing a BIG part on that.

1. Absolutely Fabulous: Absolutely All Of It- Normally stores like to discount a lot of their season sets during this time. I have been lusting for this particular one for years.

2. Make Up Geek Blush Palette and Foiled Eyeshadow Pallet- Cyber Monday is a perfect time to purchase makeup that is sold exclusively or primarily online.

3. Rayovac AA Batteries- Last year husband bought us a years supply of batteries during Black Friday. This year we may need to triple that order because my DSL camera uses batteries (why?) and filming drains them. And if you have littles, you probably need a box of these and AAA as well.

4. Apple iMac Desktop- Remember when having a laptop was all the rage and desktops were uncool? Screw that. I can't see. I need a giant screen (or two) in front of me. And this is a dream!

5. USB Memory Card Reader- I can't even tell you the amount of times I wished I had one of these little gadgets. Basically, life would be better if I owned one.

6. Bose SoundTrue Headphones- Previous to recent YouTube channel creation, I would have said I personally didn't need these. But now whilst editing, I can see how they can help.

7. Kate Spade Portable Charger- While filming this video, I realized how much this would come in handy.

8. SanDisk Extreme Pro 32GB SD Card- Currently, I am only able to film 2 videos on my SD card before it gets full. This limits me to only being able to film once during the weekends which is when I devote most of my time to creating videos. This will allow me to be more productive.

9. Hallmark "Here Comes the Pumpkin King" Keepsake Ornament- In case I haven't made my love for all things Jack Skelington, this ornament would make a great addition to our tree.

What will you be going after this year? And remember, shopping is cardio. Yes, even online. You worked that index finger to death clicking away! Go ahead and eat that pizza. You deserve it!

Plan With Me In The Happy Planner

Of all the Fall weeks I thought surely my Thanksgiving spread was going to be the warmest, full of pumpkins and turkeys. I had 1 pumpkin left and absolutely no turkeys. O.k. then. We work with what we have.

Starbucks Holiday Collection

Let me start by saying that if you are one of the people that were offended by Starbucks' holiday red cup then this post may not be for you.

This is actually one of the collections I look forward to every year. Year round I battle (not really) my addiction to Starbucks drinkware often (all the time) caving in to one (many) of them. This years collection we see a lot of illustrations and gold detailing to them. And I am just in loooove.

Here is just a handful of my favorites from this year's collection:

3. Abstract Dot Mug $13.95

Which one will be for you?

Plan With Me In The Happy Planner

Stickers seem to be put on the back burner because yet again I can't stop using these fun cut outs! Could this be the end of stickers as we know it? Um no. As soon as I started filling this out I pulled out a bunch of my life planner stickers and started sticking away.

Anyways, this week is really special since on the 22nd husband and I will be married for 1 year. I can't even believe time has gone by that fast. Even after all the stickers happened, I left a lot of blank space so I can go back afterwards and put some pictures. I also inserted this fun 'I Heart My Family' journaling tab from SMASH. The rest of these cut outs are from packets I found at Marshalls and TJ Max.

Do you like my paperclip? Here is my video on how to make them.

I thought I would share with you guys how to DIY some fun paperclips. They are easy to make and you probably already have most of the supplies. Happy crafting!

The Importance of Disconnecting

The amount of tech items that I attach myself to daily is embarrassing. I mean do we even know how to function without some kind of internet connection? You undoubtedly have felt the instant panic when you realize your cell phone is missing from the palm of your hand only to feel the instant relief when you feel it nestled into your back pocket. It's sad, isn't it? How much we rely on these gadgets? I am just as bad, obviously, and I never really gave it a second thought until I saw just how addicting it was becoming.

Granted I spend a lot of time online because of my job (and this blog) but it was my time 'spent' with others that I am talking about. Conversations were being held and I was just 'uhuhing' and kept on scrolling through my feed. Whether that person seemed to mind or not I do not know. They may not have even noticed because they are guilty of it themselves. But I didn't like the anxiety that was building inside of me when I would see that I had missed the 'flash sale' because I wasn't online at the time or the 'I didn't know that happened' moments. Worse even is spending an evening at home and the next day thinking 'Did I even see my husband?'.

I began making a conscious effort to put my phone aside as much as I could. It was almost painful at first to not leap at the ding. "Now what do I do?" I thought. Hold a conversation. What a concept, right?

For my mental clarity, I try to be alone with my thoughts at least once a day. It is the time where I plot and plan and scheme and destroy my mental obstacles. I pray, I laugh at old memories, and sometimes I even cry. I need that time to just be me with me and be ready to be me with others. It allows me to sort my thoughts to further share them with others. Honestly, it helps my peace and I believe it opens me up to others as well. I want to open heatedly reach out to my loved ones and make connections and memories and even take selfies. But I want that phone to go straight back into my back pocket and not come out. I have even started to silence it in the evenings and check it in passing. No event is more important than the time spent with my loves and I want to give them all of my attention.

Plan With Me In The Happy Planner

My love affair with ephemera continues. I am loving playing them out before I go in with stickers and washi tape. Funny enough, I didn't use any washi. I think this is the first time that happens.

To add in some patterns I used some card stock and cut them to fit the MAMBI boxes. I then added some stickers or more ephemera to add dimension to it. I thought I would show you with out my writing on it so you can actually see the design better. What do you prefer?

Do you like my seasonal paperclips? Make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for a video coming up this Friday on how to do them.

Reading Challenge Update #8

Oh how much I have enjoyed reading this month. Here is where I am currently at on the Pop Sugar Reading Challenge:

1. Eat. Pray. Love. by Elizabeth Gilbert. This book fulfills 'A Memoir' for me. I will say I was not in the least interested in reading the book or watching the movie years ago when it came out. Now after doing both, I can say that I really needed to be in the mindset that I am in now to actually appreciate the message. I can identify with the characters loss of self and her journey towards finding oneself. I can't say I know exactly who I am, but I do have a clearer vision of who I want to be. I would say this is a good book for someone to read late 20s and so on.

2. Orange Is The New Black by Piper Kerman. This book fulfills 'A Book With A Color In The Title'. This was a fun read. And much, much tamer than the show. I can say that I expected that but no really, the book is rated G compared to the show. Pick this up for some casual reading. It really puts a perspective on how convoluted the penal system can be.

3. Not That Kind Of Girl by Lena Dunham. This fulfills 'A book based on or turned into a T.V. show' simply because the show Girls is based on Dunham's real life experiences. Not all of it, of course, but some. This book had a lot of hype around it and although I enjoyed it, I wasn't blown away. Dunham talks about her childhood phobias and takes us all the way through present day. We see all her painful love experiences, her ailments, her personal views. Again, pick this up as a fun read.

4. Yes, Please by Amy Poehler. This fulfills 'A Popular Author's First Book'. Hilarious. Downright hilarious. Just read it.
