Some Recent Makeup Bits

I thought I would share with you some recent makeup purchases both from the drugstore and Sephora. I haven't tried them all out yet so I can't give you a full review but aren't they just lovely to look at?

Having a recent lipstick moment and I bought two new reds (because they are seriously all different), Maybelline Rich Ruby and Siren in Scarlet. I also bought this deep plum, Rimmel 03. I just love the dramatic effect of this. And to go on the other side of the spectrum I went for another one of Marc Jacob's Nude Sheer Gel in Role Play. If you haven't had a look at this range of lipsticks, you really need to. There is a nude for everyone and the formula is so rich and creamy. A true delight!

For the eyes I wanted a dark smokey look but wanted to steer clear of my normal browns and golds. So I went for THIS deep forest green. All the colors I have tried in this range are very blendable and long lasting. The tiny bits of glitter in it aren't over powering and capture the light. Plus its the holidays. I say pound on the glitter!

I also ran out of my Anastasia Eyebrow Wiz in Ebony. My eyebrows are black and I do not understand why they seem to be the only brand who does black eyebrow pencils. I went for the only drugstore option that also makes black eyebrow pencils and powders, NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder. I did give this a go and it matches my color perfectly. It is such a great and affordable alternative. Plus it comes in this dinky package with a equally dinky brush and eyebrow spooley which are really good.

The show stopper was Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. I had been wanting to try it for so long and just never did. Why did I let so much time pass? The love affair is in full effect. It is such a light coverage but can be built up to a great medium coverage. I go in with one pump for my full face then go back in with a tiny blob to cover the redness in my cheeks. Then I oohh and aawww at my luminous skin. Because let me tell you, it makes your skin glow in a non sticky way. I then set my concealer, nose, and chin with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light and then blend in a bit of Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone to my cheeckbones and I spend another few seconds admiring my skin. It's not vain to think you look FLAWLESS!!! Dare I say I finally found my luminous skin routine?
