Our Church wedding is just around the corner. Less than two months! I will say that although I am a crazy planner, planning my wedding really just came together in the last 3 months. There just seemed to be nothing much I could do until right before. Maybe it is because we are keeping it simple and choosing to use most of our budget on the honeymoon. Still, I do want to look the best that I can on that day and that obviously starts with my makeup.

I wanted to make sure that I had a good skincare regime in place so that my skin could be as healthy as can be. I think I pretty much have that down and now it is really just about what I actually eat to keep my skin clear. I am also really good about washing my face before going to bed so I don't clog my pores. But ever since I started using more products on my skin I did notice that I have to use a setting spray or else the makeup literally melts off my face. For every day, I still continue to use e.l.f. Makeup Mist and Set. This generally gives me a good 8 hours of not having to touch up at all. But on my wedding day, my makeup will need to last upwards of 12 hours. So I decided to start the testing now rather than later.

I have never been a primer girl. I just never saw the point to it. But again this day is special and my makeup needs to withstand hours, tears, and sweat. Now I have tried Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer during special events and no joke my makeup is fused to my face. So logically I figured this is what I would be using. I'm not going to lie, I do not like rubbing this on my face. I just feel like my skin can't breath and it's thick. But again it works amazing. My makeup stayed on, it didn't settle into lines, and my pictures came out great. Still I wanted to try something else just in case.

So when I saw this bottle by the same brand and in a liquid form I jumped on it. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water is supposed to be the same base as the Iconic Primer but in a liquid form. Logically it is more hydrating. You basically spray your face with it, wait a bit for it to absorb, and then apply your makeup as usual. I used it during a night out and I noticed my foundation went on seamlessly. Again there was no settling into fine lines and the pictures looked great. I want to give it a go where I actually wear it longer than 6 hours and see if it holds up as the original version did and if that is the case this one might just be the one.

One that definitely didn't make the cut is Two Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. The consistency of it is like a light moisturizer and maybe that is what it is supposed to be? Because I can't honestly tell you it does anything for me. I apply it after my skincare and my makeup does go on smoothly afterwards but that is it. If I don't set my makeup, my face is bare by end of day. I had heard a lot of hype about this but it is not the one for me.

Let me know if you have any recommendations for my BIG day. I would greatly appreciate it!
