WHAT ELSE HAVE I BEEN READING

January has been a good reading month for me so far. I have had a couple trips that allowed me to get through some shorter audio books. Flipping from audio, to ebook, to hard copy has turned into a fun experiment for me. It helps keep me focused and that is always a good thing.

1. Gandhi An Autobiography- this was a bit of a tough read for me. This was our first book for Life in Mascara Book Club and although I did find it interesting, I did find that it did not flow from topic to topic. Choppy almost. But I will discuss this more once I finally get my voice back and am able to film a video for you.

2. Killing Jesus- This book went well into the pages of the Bible and brought out more information that could fill in certain gaps or help explain things with more detail. It talked more about the kings and their treason and how they felt threatened by Jesus. It also spoke more about the laws and hardships at the times.

3. Modern Romance- A bit of a disappointment for me here but I guess that is all my fault. I took the title to be more of a sarcastic one rather than a literal one. The book is a study into modern romance. Go figure.

4. The Lost Symbol- Apparently I had been living under a rock and was not aware that the Robert Langdon series continued after Angels & Demons. Well as soon as I found out I jumped right in and have not stopped ever since (I am currently reading Inferno). I really enjoy all the mystery and mayhem he gets into.

5. Killing Kennedy- I am a bit obsessed with the Kennedy legacy and I will read pretty much anything on them. I hadn't had a chance to get to this one yet but I was glad that I did. While it did not shed any unknown information to be I did enjoy the way it was written and the tiny little part at the end where a young Bill O'Reilly actually has a part in history.

6. A Is For Alibi- A friend of mine recommended these books to me since she knew I am a fan of the Stephanie Plum series. Well she was correct. Kinsey Millhone is a private investigator and we follow her through her routine to find out what really happens. And of course, fun ensues through out.

Want to be able to read more but don't have the time? Why not try a 30 day free trial of Audible and get two audio books? You will be hooked!
