WHAT ELSE DID I READ THIS MONTH

Compared to January, February was a slow reading month for me. Still I was able to read three books in this short month. I consider it a win.

1. Inferno by Dan Brown. This is the last book in the Robert Langdon series and while I enjoyed it I did find that at times I had a difficult time keeping focusing on what I was reading. The story at times felt predictable. If you have read the other books you know there is always a beautiful female character that goes along the saga with Langdon, light flirtation, and humanity is saved to live another day. Still you learn to expect this same story line from the books. All in all I enjoyed the book but it wasn't my favorite from the series.

2. The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. This is the second book in Life in Mascara Book Club. I will be posting a review here soon.

3. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Slight dystopian meets virtual reality? Sign me up! It is the year 2044 and Wade Watts is living his life as a member of the OASIS, the virtual reality program a multi-millionaire created and left behind as his final will and decree. Watts goes by the avatar Parzival and has devoted all his time and effort to figuring out the puzzles in the OASIS that will lead him to the fortune of its creator. The worlds and obstacles are all infused with 80's pop culture and various video games. It is a race until the end! This book is set to become a movie in 2018 with Steven Spielberg leading the project. I can't wait!

What books have you been reading lately? Leave me some recommendations below.

  1. Ready Player One is my ALL TIME favorite book. I got it when it was released in 2011. I can proudly say I use it as my "in-between" book to sometimes get over whatever I just read. I have read it 9 times and listened to Wil Wheaton narrate it via Audible 7 times. DON'T CARE! LOVE!

    1. I have really been into business and finance books as of late too. This is very unlike me as I love a good dystopian book any day!

  4. I've heard good things about Ready Player One, it seems pretty interesting! I just got done reading the Song of Ice and Fire series and am anxiously awaiting the release of the next book, which probably won't be until 2017 (sad face).

    1. That is on my to read list too! I would say give Inferno a go simply to finish out the series. I can't stand having series uncompleted.
